Planning a proposal can be quite daunting. There’re 101 things to think about but one of the most important things is to find out yourpartner’s ring size without them knowing what you’re up to. To give you a helping hand, we’ve compiled a list of some of the simplest methods to get the most accurate size.
1. Ask her friends – enlisting the help of one of her friends or family members is a great way to get her ring size info. Maybe her friends will already know but if they don’t, have them go out to brunch and slip the question there or disguise engagement ring shopping for them as browsing for a ring for the friend. It’s better to ask a friend who has good acting skills!
2. Take one of her rings – if you can sneakily get one of her rings to a local jeweller, they can measure it for you and you can simply put the ring back. It is important to note that you need to make sure which finger she wears this ring and that she doesn’t wear it often or she’ll notice when it’s gone!
3. Trace one – if you can’t bring one of her rings to a local jeweller, you can still use one of her rings by tracing the inside and outside of it. Just make sure it’s as accurate as possible.
4. High five! (Compare hands) – not as subtle or accurate as the other methods, but this method can work if you implement it right. Ask your partner to compare hands or take more notice when you’re next holding hands. It’s normally the case that their ring finger is the same size as your pinky or little finger.
Don’t worry if you don’t get the perfect ring size for the proposal, it can be resized and altered to fit their finger perfectly after!
Oh and there’s one last suggestion (that we think is the best):
